Install and sign in
The app is on the App Store (iOS) and Google Play (Android). Search for "GoStar Driver" and install it. The first time you launch it, grant the permissions it asks for — the app can't receive rides without them.

Permissions the app needs
| Permission | What it's for |
|---|---|
| Location (precise, always) | Assigning the closest offers to you and sharing position during a ride. |
| Notifications | Incoming ride offers and cancellations. |
| Background app refresh | So an offer doesn't arrive late when the app isn't on screen. |
⚠️ Both iOS and Android will ask "Only while using the app" vs. "Always". Pick Always — the app must receive offers even with the screen off.
The app offers three ways to sign in:
- Email + one-time code — type the address the operator created your account with. A 6-digit code arrives; type it back.
- Sign in with Apple — iOS only, using the Apple ID linked to your account.
- Sign in with Google — using a Google account linked to your profile.

If you see the screen "This isn't a driver account", your account isn't flagged as a driver in the system. Contact the operator — without the right account type the app won't continue.
What you'll see the first time
After your first sign-in you go through onboarding (profile setup — first name, last name, license number). See Profile setup.
App updates
You may occasionally see a screen titled "Update the app" with a button to your store. This is a forced update — older versions stop receiving rides. Update, then sign in again if the app asks.
